A native of Naples, Italy, Raimondo Roberti has had a lifelong attraction to the coast: the sea, marinas, boats and fisherman. Growing up in Posillipo he was influenced by the School of Posillipo and honed his artistic skills under the tutelage of Alfredo Alario. He has lived for in Rome, France, Florence and the United States.

His ambitions and existence are supported solely by his artwork.

Raimondo Roberti paints predominately with acrylic and has developed a mastery of this medium few artists can match. “I consider myself an old fashioned painter. I only use colors and brushes and I only paint on cotton canvas, canvas board and wood panel. I do not use any digital technique or mixed media. I usually prefer to start my paintings using the plein air technique.”

Raimondo, Italy’s premier contemporary impressionist painter continues to recreate the beauty and character of the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and Capri.  One of a kind paintings, by a known master artist that has been painting for 50 years.  He has been featured on the cover of The Artist’s Magazine as a present day Italian master.

His work has been shown at the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport, Connecticut; The International Arts Center at Auckland, New Zealand; and Gallery Masini, Florence. They are currently displayed in galleries in Positano, Sorrento, and Ischia. His works are also in many prestigious collections.

My statement:
I live in the moment. I paint to capture that moment.
